Hi Tom, RGC Construction had a client that needed their plastered ceilings and cove repaired and replaced. Working in the construction industry, it can be very challenging to find skilled workers. Plastering is an art unto itself. After a few phone calls we were referred to M Palumbo Plastering. The “M” is short for Max. It should be Michelangelo. Max is an artist. A master. His skill is so profoundly impressive he makes it look like anyone can do the job. Believe me it’s not easy doing what he does. We had extensive water damage from a burst pipe during a very cold spell. Water flooded our living room ceiling. We had considerable concern regarding who to contact to redo the hand-done plastered ceiling which looked like an elegant work of art, done by Gerald Schuitt in 1983. We wanted to retain the flow and matched design from living room to dining room. Less particular companies suggested putting a transom between the two rooms to “accommodate” 2 different ceiling designs. We were aghast to think we might have to “accept” this look! Imagine my complete relief and joy to discover that Max and his brother assured us that they knew of Mr. Schuitt’s work, had worked with him, and could redo the ceiling to restore the look of quality and continuity of an artistic, hand-finished design. The crew of three came promptly with never any re-scheduling or procrastination, and worked quietly and professionally over three days. All were courteous and attentive to any questions and concerns. At the end, we were ecstatic with the results. I, personally, was moved to tears. It can be hard to find tradespeople to do plastering, as dry wall is the going trend. Our ceiling was done perfectly with a stunning seashell swirl design. Without any hesitation, my husband and I, very highly recommend M PALUMBO PLASTERING. We were thoroughly impressed with every facet of their work, from set-up to clean-up. This team sets the standard for plaster ceiling restoration.
